Information about how ROOTNET VPN processes personal information in connection with accounts, subscriptions, support and operation of the service.
This Privacy Policy describes the principles for processing personal information in connection with the ROOTNET VPN service, the website https://rootnets.net/ and supported ROOTNET applications.
The Contractor processes personal information only for purposes connected with operation of the service, account management, subscription management, payment processing, user support, security and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
ROOTNET may process an e-mail address and other account identifiers required to register, authenticate and maintain a user account.
Account information may also include subscription status, subscription period, service configuration and information necessary to provide account-related support.
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it is processed and for compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Payments may be processed by an external payment provider. ROOTNET may receive transaction-related information necessary to identify a payment, activate a subscription, handle a refund or resolve a support request.
Payment card credentials and other sensitive payment authentication data are processed by the relevant payment provider and should not be stored directly by the ROOTNET website unless technically and legally required for a specific payment method.
The payment provider may process information in accordance with its own privacy documentation and applicable law.
ROOTNET operates network infrastructure required to establish and maintain VPN connections.
Technical information may be generated or processed where necessary to establish a connection, maintain service stability, diagnose technical problems, prevent abuse and protect infrastructure.
ROOTNET does not require the contents of a user's Internet communications for account management or subscription processing.
The amount of technical information retained should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting and compliance with applicable legal obligations.
When a user contacts ROOTNET support, ROOTNET may process the information included in the request, including contact details, account information and technical information voluntarily provided by the user.
Support correspondence may be retained for the time reasonably necessary to resolve the request, prevent repeated technical issues and comply with applicable obligations.
ROOTNET may use third-party infrastructure, hosting, e-mail, payment and other technical providers where necessary to operate the service.
Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant provider to perform its function should be transferred to such providers.
Third-party providers may process information under their own legal and privacy obligations.
ROOTNET takes reasonable organizational and technical measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration or disclosure.
No Internet-based system can provide an absolute guarantee of security, and users should also take reasonable measures to protect access to their accounts and devices.
Users may contact ROOTNET regarding access to, correction of or deletion of personal information where such rights are available under applicable law.
A request may require reasonable verification of identity or account ownership before information is disclosed, changed or deleted.
Certain information may need to be retained where retention is required by law or is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
ROOTNET may update this Privacy Policy when the service, infrastructure, legal requirements or data processing practices change.
